Product Description

The New and Improved GWP Family of Froth-Paks

Froth-Pak Sealant and Froth-Pak Insulation have all-new formulations that balance regulatory compliance with improvements to meet and exceed your expectations!

Froth-Pak 650 & 210 Insulation is excellent at sealing and provides insulation at R-6 per inch thickness. In addition, Froth-Pak Insulation is formulated to provide extra fire protection with a Class A fire rating; this allows it to be sprayed up to 2 inches thick in basements, crawl spaces and attics without the requirement of a separate fire barrier.

Froth-Pak 620 & 200 Sealants are also excellent at sealing air leaks, preventing moisture infiltration and keeping dust and pests out at R-6 per inch thickness. However, sealants typically need to be covered with an additional fire barrier to meet code requirements.

Improved Froth-Paks are Redesigned for Optimal Performance and Sustainability!

Same Great Performance!

New Froth-Paks are not only improved, but keep their excellent performance:

  • Retained 15 month shelf life from manufacture date
  • Maintained R-value despite significant formulation changes
  • Same Class III Vapor Retarder
  • Kept simple, all-in-one and portable use, requires no additional equipment
  • Sustained expected ASTM E84 Class A Fire Rating up to 2”
  • Preserved USA manufacturing location to optimize speed of product to channel

Tips & Tricks

Tip #1 Sprays more liquid-y than the old formulation but expands quicker. Initial spray does not need to be as thick as the old formulation.
Tip #2 Because it does dispense as a more of a liquid, the material does run a little bit more. Quicker, thinner passes are suggested.
Tip #3 While the dispenser and the hoses have remained the same the nozzles have changed*. Do not use the old nozzles with the new formulation. The material will not mix as well as it needs to and the output will not set/cure correctly.
Tip #4 Part 1 Adhesion - There are some instances where the material has pulled away from the substrate. Typically if the material is sprayed on a open board (spraying on a piece of plywood without sides), the product does not have something to grab on to and can possibly bow off the board.
Tip #4 Part 2 Adhesion Cont - If it does happen, it can be pressed back down on the substrate with a little pressure and will then full adhere. Best suggestion is to start with a flash coat about ¼” thick and then go over the area again to get the full thickness you want. Flash coat acts as a primer and helps with adhesion.
Tip #5 The material does set up faster than the old formulation so the product will cure faster in the nozzles. Suggested to purge the nozzles every 20 seconds or so reduce chance to material curing in nozzle.
Tip #6 Kits can restart up to one day after use; longer than one day and users will need to purge the lines before restarting. Many contractors do this today to ensure they are on ratio this is not a substantial change to their processes.
Tip #7 Refills can restart up to three days after use; longer than this timeframe and users will need to purge the lines before restarting.
